Cory Aquino, Maria Ressa, kabilang sa TIME's 100 Women of the Year

For the project, the magazine has selected one hundred women — one every year from the 1920s — in honor of this month's women's month.

It was 1999 when the "Man of the Year" was replaced by "Person of the Year," which paved the way for women to be selected as magazine covers.

"With this 100 Women of the Year project, we're spotlighting influential women who were often overshadowed. This includes women who occupied positions from which the men were often chosen," TIME reported.
