Sa Wakas! May Gamot Na Para Sa Coronavirus: AVIGAN
Inspite of all the traumatizing news recently, about the COVID-19, there is now a light at the heart of the problem.
The Chinese government proposes to use Fujifilm Global's flu medicine Avigan (Generic Name: Favipiravir) to fight covid-19 infections. The drug was made in 2014 but tested against coronavirus.
According to China National Center for Biotechnology Development Zhang Xinmin, in a series of clinical trials on the drug, two medical organizations have found it to be effective. It also has no obvious side-effects.
Lung condition has been improved by 91 percent of patients given the medicine.
"It has a high degree of safety and is clearly effective in treatment," Xinmin said.
The drug has been given to coronavirus patients in Japan since February 2020. Covid-19-positive patients have been regenerating within days after being given Avigan. The drug is being prepared for mass production.
Other than Japan's Avigan medicine, researchers from the United States are also developing a covid-19 vaccine. Only on March 16 the United States tested the vaccines on Jennifer Haller, who volunteered to be tested. After injecting the vaccine, Haller left the examination room smiling.
“We're a coronavirus team now… Everyone wants to do what they can in this emergency… We don't know whether this vaccine will induce an immune response or whether it will be safe. That's why we're doing a trial… It's not at the stage where it would be possible or prudent to give it to the general population, ”said Kaiser Permanente Washington Research Institute study leader Dr. Lisa Jackson.
