In a recent press conference in Malacanang with the Malacanang Press Crops, an Inquirer reporter, tried to outsmart Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, by opening up an issue in Congress wherein congressmen are having squabbles especially in the issue of the speakership position and what among the issues that need to be tackled first, considering lots of matter and problems they need to query on through a session.
The reporter wanted to point out that the President is interfering with the Congress even though Panelo said many times in the past, the former is not. The reporter wanted Panelo to look like that he was lying to the people when he said that the President is not interfering with Congress' intramurals.
But Panelo reacted with finesse to the reporter that the President is not. Panelo added, and told the reporter to remember that in July last year 2019, the Congress or the congressmen sought help from the President to help them on their disagreement with one another. Panelo pointed out that he indeed did not interfere because they were the ones who asked the President for help.
Another reporter also followed up the issue by also trying to echo the Inquirer reporter that indeed he is interfering. The male reporter wanted to point out that there might be a crack in the Congress since the President is not interfering with it. Panelo replied that how can there be a crack when the majority in Congress are allies of the President?
Both reporters did not ask further. They apparently looked disappointed with their questions because Panelo answered them clearly and briefly. They looked like students from a college class asking questions to their professor.
