The Sandiganbayan yesterday ordered the arrest of former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) chairman Camilo Sabio after dismissing its proposed motion for reconsideration and finalizing its decision on its graft case.
"Let a warrant of arrest be issued against the said accused, and the post-promulgation bond he posted will be canceled," the Sandiganbayan 4th Division decision stated.
The anti-graft court did not respond to Sabio's motion for reconsideration after it exceeded the 15-day to file a motion.
It was learned that in November 29 when Sabio was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the graft court for trying to influence his brother Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice Jose Sabio in connection with a case filed by Meralco with the GSIS.
December 16, 2019 is the deadline for filing a motion for reconsideration by Sabio but December 21 has filed with the court.
