After Raffy Tulfo's video went viral since it was uploaded on Monday, November 18, 2019, netizens got dismayed with the outcome of the issue between the parent and teacher.
The complainant, the grandmother went to TV5 to tell the incident that happened to her grandson in school. The teacher let the child sit outside the classroom for not able to bring his school card. This was caught on CCTV. The grandma also reported that the teacher hit the child in the head with a comb. But there wasn't evidence to prove this claim.
In the show we can see the grandma was very angry at the teacher, saying right in front of her face that she should be taught a lesson, even pointing a finger at her, at least on the TV screen. Raffy Tulfo also displayed sympathy to the complainant, the grandma, and put weight on the complainant and didn't give any ear to the one who was being complained, the teacher.
Now, after the video went viral, netizens went mad about how Raffy Tulfo handled the episode. There were many that sympathized to the teacher. Some made a hashtag #JusticeForTeachers that went popular yesterday, November 22, 2019 in social media. Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube was floded with comments and opinions about Raffy Tulfo's episode. Bashers grew every minute. Many others made their own opinion in their own Facebook accounts, still the sympathy is with the teacher. Only very few who did not sympathize to the teacher.
However, yesterday, November 22, 2019, knowing about what happened in social media, Raffy Tulfo made a response over the phone in his LIVE video in his YouTube channel. There he admitted he made his mistake, though he did not make an apology to the teacher. He still believed that the teacher has to be punished, but not through the revocation of her teaching license, but to have her undergo training and seminars for teachers.
Netziens especially Raffy Tulfo fans, began to understand the situation of Raffy Tulfo. Still many did not buy Raffy Tulfo's response. The mother of the child, the daughter of the grandmother who first complained and went to TV5, talked with Raffy and Sharon (Raffy Tulfo's partner in Raffy Tulfo in Action) over the phone and discussed about decreasing or canceling the punishment to the teacher. Tulfo said, the teacher had apologized in public anyway, so they no longer make a move to revoke her teaching license. A sudden change of heart by Tulfo and the mother because of the bashing and pressure they got from netizens. Majority of netizens said, revoking of the license is too much. It doesn't fit the teacher's wrong doing.
